What I Do
Virtual individual therapy for adults.
My goal is to help you find the essence of your true being. Therapy with me is dynamic and active but also individually paced. We will work together to build a better life based on what truly matters to you.
CBT (Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy) works primarily by identifying and modifying problematic thoughts, reactions to emotions, and behaviors that may be getting in your way.
ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy) also considers suffering to be directly connected to our relationship with our thoughts and feelings. As humans, we are wired to rid ourselves of painful experiences (e.g., anxiety, sadness, unwanted thoughts, bad memories) when we are suffering. Sometimes this effort to eliminate pain becomes a source of pain itself. Thus, in ACT we work on viewing thoughts and feelings with a different stance. Beyond managing symptoms and reducing suffering, my aim is to help you live a more rewarding, full, and vital life.
I am best suited to work with clients who are in a state of readiness towards change. My therapeutic approach is a highly interactive process where we work collaboratively on your goals. As your therapist, I will ask you to participate in experiential exercises or try new behaviors in session to help you learn new skills. There will also be activities for you to practice in-between sessions to foster long-term, sustainable change.
